MiSim®

MiSim software applications for Intermec EasyCoder series and Zebra ZBI printers provide the middleware to extend the capabilities of your current label printing systems. Applications range from printer simulators that replace dot-matrix technology with higher resolution thermal printing technology to sophisticated applications such as the SmartIVTM family that produce “smart” infusion pump programming symbols from pharmacy label data.

MiSim software installed on the printer is designed to read the print data from the host system typically created for a dot-matrix printer, laser printer or any other printer and re-format it for printing on roll-stock thermal transfer or direct thermal labels. Often, no changes are made to the host system. You can further customize your label to add bar codes not present in the original label, build specialized bar codes, automatically adjust font scaling and size to fit text to a specific area, and provide extended options such as drawing lines, boxes, and changing fonts through specially designed tags that are embedded in the label design as fixed text.

MiSim applications include a data capture and print capability that creates a data capture of the host data stream while printing. The resulting file is a text file that can easily be transferred from the printer and e-mailed for analysis.

MiSim in Healthcare

MiSim has installations with a variety of lab, pharmacy and admission systems such as Misys, Siemens, IDX, GE, McKesson and Meditech. MiSim MLPS is optimized to work with Misys pharmacy and lab’s smart printing system and is also supported on Omnicell Pharmacy Central. MiSim works with device innovative manufacturers such as Intermec, Zebra, Honeywell, and Code Corp to build better products for healthcare. MiSim also works closely with smart infusion pump manufacturers such as Cardinal/Alaris, Sigma International and Smiths-Deltec.
